Cheryl's Before & After, Step 2 by Todd Suttles

Last Thursday we talked about Cheryl's Keratin Smoothing service that stylist Julie Moore did for Cheryl; how important that was in creating a manageable style for her. After all, it really doesn't matter how great you look when you leave the salon if you can't replicate the look yourself over the next 29 days outside the salon! I always ask my clients if they are getting compliments from strangers; that lets me know how they are doing with styling their look by themselves.

The next thing I wanted to address with Cheryl was the form, or shape, of her style. There are always 3 balance points for every client, at a minimum; short, medium and long. For Cheryl, I wanted to take her to the medium length balance point. The long hair she came to me with certainly was NOT in balance; it was dragging her down. We could have corrected that and left it long, but I did not feel that long would serve her well given her busy lifestyle with 3 kids. The medium balance point would be easier to maintain which always means looking good a greater percentage of the time. I think the way this medium length choice fits her is clearly evident in the photo above (click to enlarge). Next week I will explain my hair color choices and strategy that I selected for Cheryl.

Jo Patricia Aronstein starts Beauty Boot Camp on June 8

Kim welcomes the next Beauty Boot Camp Winner

Jo Patricia Aronstein's name was drawn from the entry slips at the graduation party last Tuesday. Jo Patricia won the Beauty Boot Camp we promised to give away that night. Since then, she has been calling almost daily to get started. That is the kind of enthusiasm and commitment that gets results. All of us are eager to start Jo Patricia on her own individual 8 week course commencing June 8.

Cheryl shares some of her learned wisdom from her own Beauty Boot Camp experience:

Now, I do have a bit of advice for the lucky winners of BBCII

1) Thank goodness for Chocolate Myoplex and muscle milk -  they take care of that chocolate craving
2) Crystal light and vodka makes a pretty good drink
3) Invest in a burka or wear your wedding veil if you plan to appear in public after a Jessner chemical peel.
4) A trainer will make you accountable for those last few reps – accountability was key
5) BBC is a part-time job – it takes a lot of time to transform bad habits into good ones
6) Forget the frizz – go Brazilian, it’s worth every minute in the salon chair
7) Endermology suits are not attractive but endermology is fantastic
8) A new hair style can give you a whole new attitude and a lot of compliments
9) Don’t come late to workout sessions or Amy will make you do extra push-ups (just kidding – but not a bad idea, huh Amy)
10) Don’t wear a cotton shirt when you are working out with rubber-bands, you may end of showing your bra to the entire Internet universe
