Dear Noland Suttles Salon, My name is Linda H. and i have ordered from your website. I have a question regarding my hair, I went to a salon here in Savannah were i curantlly live and the woman fried my hair. so i ordered purology volume shampoo and conditioner from you, i also ordered purology real curl and have been using them every since but my hair is still very frizzy and lots of flyaways on top of my head. any suggestions? or advice, i would greatly appreciate. Thank You Linda H.
Linda,
Thanks for the question and I am sorry you had a bad experience in a salon. It shouldn’t be that way.
With perms, when the hair has been over processed there isn’t really anything you can do to “undo” the damage because of the nature of the chemicals involved. The best to expect is to prevent further damage over time and enhance the appearance of the hair. I would suggest you try the Pureology Hydrate Shampoo & Conditioner instead of the Volume next time you need shampoo and conditioner; that will help calm the hair. Another product that is Terrific for your scenario is the Alterna Straightening Balm. I know that sounds completely contradictory until you analyze the problem; you have curl from the perm and you have volume from the perm – what you need is to smooth and polish the hair cuticle. The Pureology Hydrate will work on the interior of the hair shaft and moisturize, making the hair more flexible (think of a wet sponge Vs a dry sponge). The Alterna Straightening Balm doesn’t really “straighten” the hair in and of itself; it seals the hair locking humidity outside the hair shaft. This helps keep the hair straight, if you have straightened it in the styling. The advantage to you in your scenario is that the Alterna Straightening Balm is made from a plant extract very similar to the consistency of Aloe; very thick and slimy. It feels like way to much while wet, but when dry it is weightless. This will totally smooth out that frizz and add shine, manageability. Good Luck and thanks for the great question
