Locks of Love is a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children under age 18 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis. We meet a unique need for children by using donated hair to create the highest quality hair prosthetics.
Most of the children helped by Locks of Love have lost their hair due to a medical condition called alopecia areata, which has no known cause or cure. The prostheses we provide help to restore their self-esteem and their confidence, enabling them to face the world and their peers.
Concepcion Abarca has spent over a year waiting for this today. I am reminded of the short story The Gift of the Maji by O. Henry as we cut her hair to be sent to Locks of Love. Who can tell how much love was given this day and to how many it may spread. Conception gave of herself literally today.
The requirements for donating hair to locks of love are:
-10 inches measured tip to tip is the minimum length needed for a hairpiece.
-Hair must be in a ponytail or braid before it is cut.
-Hair must be clean and completely dry before it is mailed in.
-Place the ponytail or braid inside of a plastic bag, and then inside of a padded envelope.
-Fill out the hair donation form, or write your name and address on a separate sheet of paper and include inside the envelope.
-All hair donations must be mailed to Locks of Love at:
2925 10th Avenue N
Suite 102
Lake Worth, FL 33461
-Noland Suttles Salon is happy to donate a haircut and style to anyone who donates their hair to Locks of Love to anyone

Heather's first comment about her hair was that she had terrible problems with oily scalp; she shampooed her hair daily, and by mid afternoon she had abandoned all hope.
I knew immediately that we had the solution for her and explained that her problem was more common than people thought. At Noland Suttles we use the L'Oreal Serie Expert line which includes an in-salon treatment and take-home follow up treatment. We first do a scalp treatment in two stages: Exfolliation with L'Oreal Serie Expert Soft Peel followed by a scalp balancing treatment using L'Oreal Serie Expert Sensi Balance. Because the treatments are so strong they do need to be administered in the salon by someone with experience using them. The take-home follow up product is the L'Oreal Serie Expert Sebo Control pictured to the left. This is a scalp regulating product which is available for purchase and use at home. However, to get the best results, the treatments need to be applied in the salon about twice; sometimes more, depending on scalp oil production in conjunction with the home use of Sebo Control.

The winners are selected (Click to View) and they are off to Being Your Best You. Choosing five from over 150 was extremely difficult. Beauty Boot Camp is about serving and helping; about support, expertise and change; to not select 145 went against our spirit.
Over the next eight weeks we hope that by sharing the Beauty Boot Camp tips, advice and inspiration here on the MyBeautyBootCamp Blog that we can give something of value to everyone, not just the campers.
And... there are rumors already about Beauty Boot Camp II
So please check back with us here for yourself and to follow the first five campers on their journey. We promise to make it worth your while. We are committed to sharing and giving in Beauty Boot Camp and on here our Blog.

Well, we haven't selected the five winners yet. It is really difficult there were so many who wanted to win.

What a fun evening! All of us at Beauty Boot Camp want to thank each of you for your attendance. The preregistrations were amazing but your attendance and turn out was Mind Blowing! We certainly have our work cut out for us over the next couple days; it is going to be very hard to narrow down to the "chosen five". At last count, attendance last night was over 150 and approaching 200!
We hope everyone enjoyed the evaluations and consultations. We know you enjoyed all the food and wine as it was gone by the close! In each of your Gift Bags were many great gifts; we hope that you will utilize them. We have some very tough decisions to narrow the selections down to only 5 winners. Keep checking back here at the Beauty Boot Camp Blog for updates on the final selection process. In the mean time, Thank You for your attendance and we will be finalizing the selections for the First Beauty Boot Camp very soon.
